Royal Dutch Shell in Nigeria has suffered the severing of a pipeline, Azerbaijan News reported Wednesday
according to Azerbaijan News, the pipeline, which sends crude oil to an export terminal in southern Nigeria, has been destroyed by explosives.
The incident was only detected by a surveillance team after a general investigation of the area in which the explosion occurred.
Oil pipelines are under threat in the Western Delta of Nigeria, with sabotage by militants the main problem.
Local youths also often destroy pipelines to steal crude.
