Chernomortransneft has strengthened on July 5, 2016, the firefighting measures in the regions of its activities due to the settled hot weather.
In relation to the threat of forest fires the management of Transneft has taken the decision to create a fire protection system. Measures on prevention of expansion and liquidation of fire in forestland have been developed. In all structural subdivisions of Chernomortransneft special operational groups, consisting of the enterprise’s employees, ready to depart for fire suppression to remote areas, contiguous to the oil trunk pipeline and facilities, have been formed. Extraordinary labour protection briefings are conducted.
Within the period of preparing to the fire danger period 16 emergency response drills were conducted in the joint-stock company’s subdivisions with participation of operational groups of firefighting services of the EMERCOM (Ministry for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters).
Employees of the structural subdivisions have cleaned the territory contiguous to the enterprise’s facilities from trees and shrubs and dried grass in embankments of tanks, valves, PIG traps. Inspection of anti-lightning protection means inside the site and linear facilities of trunk pipelines was conducted. Special trenches and fire barriers along the protected zones of the industrial facilities were developed.
During the activities all the fire-extinguishing equipment and technical equipment of the subdivisions’ firefighting services is involved.
Monitoring of the territory in the five-kilometre zone of the oil trunk pipelines facilities location is constantly conducted for the purpose of preventing fire hazardous situations.
