CDM Asia 2008

This conference is now the biggest meeting of project developers, credit buyers and project owners in Asia...

CDM Asia 2008

Singapore, June 17 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- UNDP China’s programme manager for energy and environment joins other VIPs from the UNFCCC secretariat, the European Chamber (China), and the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association at CDM Asia 2008. Ms. Liu Shijun will be speaking on UNDP’s capacity building initiatives in China and elsewhere in Asia. The conference covers a variety of topics zooming in from current global developments in the carbon market down to country-specific analyses, outlook and case studies from project participants themselves.

Going beyond other carbon finance events in Asia, CDM Asia 2008 is encouraging project owners and potential project owners to attend as well, and has limited the total number of seats for the conference to only 200 key industry players. The event director explains, “Key project developers have indicated that they would like to spend more quality time with current and future industry and government allies, so they have asked us to be very selective about the attendees. Of course, this is what we are doing.”

Other speakers include high-level representatives from China’s NDRC, UNEP Risoe Centre, Guizhou Coal Mine Methane Recovery and Utilization Initiative, PEAR Carbon Offset Initiative, Business Council for Sustainable Development Malaysia, Waste Management Association of Malaysia, Philippine National Oil Company Energy Development Corporation, The Climate Group, Natsource, Point Carbon, Climate Change Capital, Constellation Commodities, Baker & McKenzie LLP, Maycroft Consulting, Climate Experts, First Climate, Green Capital Consulting, Research Center for Climate Change, China CDM Report, Enel Trade SpA, Agrinergy Consultancy, Areva Renewable, Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd, PT Petromat Agrotech, SWM Environment Sdn Bhd, Kajima Corporation, Lafarge Malayan Cement Bhd, and DNAs from a variety of Asian countries spanning from East Asia to South and Southeast Asia.
