Siemens to showcase cost-efficient offshore wind technology at GOW 2016 trade show

Siemens will present technologies and services that will help lowering the levelized cost of electricity at the Global Offshore Wind 2016 (GOW) trade show in Manchester, England.

It is reported by Siemens June 16, 2016.

As further steps in cost reduction are crucial to enable a sustainable, successful offshore wind industry, the company will showcase new technologies in wind turbines, grid connection, and operations and services.

At stand 140 the company presents e.g. its enhanced portfolio of services for offshore wind power plants with focus on digital services and logistics concepts. The exhibition takes place from June 21 to 22 at the Manchester Central Convention Complex.

Michael Hannibal, CEO Offshore Wind Power of the Siemens Wind Power and Renewables Division, will be one of the presenters at the Siemens press briefing on June 22 from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. in Central Meeting Room 4.

He will outline the company’s cost-out targets after 2020 and will also participate at the Business Leaders Debate from 10-11 a.m. in Charter 2 on the same day. The debate will focus on the next steps for growth of the global offshore wind industry.

Further Siemens speakers in the GOW conference program are Paul Savvides, who will give first-hand insights into offshore wind project development, and Peter Esmann, who will focus on efficiency enhancing technical innovations of turbines and beyond. Both speakers can be seen on June 22 in Charter 3 from 4-5 p.m.

"Since reducing costs remains at the top of the agenda for the offshore wind industry, Siemens is developing comprehensive, new technologies and services," says Michael Hannibal. "Our customers benefit from digital and connected processes, services and components that allow offshore wind power plants to excellently meet today’s demands. At the same time, we ensure that offshore wind will also be a profitable asset in the future."
