An impressive capacity for trade and economic cooperation and increase bilateral trade turnover was noted at the meeting in Ashgabat President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Tatarstan of Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, who had arrived on October 11, 2016, with a working visit to Ashgabat.

 

Turkmenistan and Tatarstan has gained considerable experience of partnership and joint projects.

As an example, long - term cooperation with the plant KAMAZ, TATNEFT, Kazan helicopter plant and others. 2008 in Ashgabat acts of trade, training and service center KAMAZ vehicles of this brand are used in various industries of the Turkmen economy.

 

One of the priority areas of bilateral partnership called the fuel and energy sector, where there is scope for cooperation in the field of refining and petrochemicals.

For example, TATNEFT cooperates with the State Concern Turkmenneft in the framework of the signed in August 2010 the service contract for the provision of services to increase oil recovery in Goturdepe deposit in the West of Turkmenistan.

 

It was also noted the importance today of the Turkmen-Tatarstan business forum, and highlighted the significant role of the joint Turkmen-Tatarstan working group on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation. Also was held exchange of views on the establishment of direct flights between Ashgabat and Kazan.

Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Fairgrounds chamber of Commerce, where he opened the Exhibition of economic achievements of Turkmenistan, devoted to the 25 th anniversary of the independence of the country. The guest got acquainted with the large-scale exposition of the achievements during the period of independent development in all sectors of the national economy: oil and gas sector, construction, industry and manufacturing, communications and transport, agro-industrial complex.
