Several new cracks have appeared in the hull of the tanker Prestige sank off Spanish waters.
Salvage experts have discovered that 150 tonnes of heavy fuel oil is leaking daily from the Prestige.
Six more cracks have been found in the hull and with around 55,000 tonnes still underwater, the clean-up could go on for years and the worst may be yet to come.
Experts still do not have a solution to prevent a constant tide of it coming ashore.
It is already Spain's worst environmental disaster and the specially set-up scientific committee is under intense pressure to find a solution.
