An emergency situation was declared after the spill from the Moonee Pipeline, which comes from the far west of the state.
Crude oil supplies from the pipeline have been turned off at Sunnybank in Brisbane's south but late this morning the oil was still flowing into creeks at about 12 litres an hour.
The spill coveresabout 10ha near the Caltex terminal at Lytton.
Queensland Environment Minister Dean Wells was expected to visit the scene today where emergency services were trying to stop the spill.
