The second phase of an oil spill clean-up has begun. The oil spill affected the north-eastern coast of Muharraq and part of Seef Bay.
The sandy areas have already been cleaned up but authorities have yet to fully launch the much more difficult task of cleaning up the rocky areas.
A combination of hot water and steam will be used to clean-up the rocky areas.
Environmental Affairs director-general Khalid Fakhro said all authorities involved have been asked to assess costs or losses that have resulted from the oil spill.
