Royal Dutch/Shell launched the first Japanese liquid hydrogen refueling station in Tokyo. Under the pilot projects there will be another four stations in the area.
The project is part of a larger scheme to promote hydrogen. It is jointly owned by Shell Iwatani Corp. and the Tokyo Metropolitan government.
Last April Shell opened the first hydrogen refueling station worldwide in Iceland. Further stations will be built in the US, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
