Sellafield plant to be closed down by 2010.
British nuclear reposession plant at Sellafield is to be closed down by the year 2010. It has become known from The Guardian, the British newspaper.
Norway has for several years protested against the radioactive emissions directly to the sea from the plant.
Traces of Technetium-99 has been found along the coast of Norway and other countries around the North Sea.
Strong pressure from Norway led Britain earlier this summer to stop the emissions to the sea for nine months, while looking into the possibilities for storing the waste on land.
