An oil spill from Tasman Spirit is still polluting the beach.
According to the report of the environmental impact committee, out of 28,000 tonnes of oil spilled into the sea, 11,000 tonnes of crude oil got evaporated, 7,000 tonnes got splashed on the shore, while another 10,000 tonnes settled at the bottom of the sea.
Doctors at medical camps reported ?higher occurrence of respiratory problems, skin and eye irritation, while citing that one of the medical camps provided treatment to 250 people who reported ailments attributed to carbon exposure.
Experts fear serious long-term problems particularly for people working on the beach and those living close by like those in Shireen Jinnah Colony.
