Western banks, the creditors of embattled firm Yukos, demanded their money from Russian state-run oil group Rosneft, because it has acquired Yukos?s key production unit, Yuganskneftegaz.
They suppose, then the state firm must give them back over $1,4 billion.
Russian daily Vedomosti said that the banks addressed Rosneft after Yukos next time exceeded of the interest payment term.
After the forced sale of Yuganskneftegaz, Yukos ceased its oil exports and the payments. The company could pay even less the half of the sum.
Rosneft denied from commenting.
