Russia's Grid Power System To Have New Mechanism

Russian power grid monopoly Unified Energy System said on Wednesday that it will carry out some reforms in 2005.

Vasily Zubakin, a member of the UES? Board, said it is planned to deregulate the country?s power market by 2007. he said, ?2005 will become the year of the reform tide. It will be a turning point for reform. From 2006, we will have a new mechanism and new working conditions.?

?By the end of 2006, we will possibly see the unbundling of UES. In 2007 we will have full deregulation and liberalization of Russian power markets,? he added.
