Russia?s aluminium giant RusAl has pled the government of Montenegro for resuming negotiations on disputed points on sale of state-owned aluminium smelter KAP, Montenegran daily reported.
Earlier this month the talks have stumbled over environmental issues, electricity prices and RusAl?s failure to submit adequate guarantees for its off-shore subsidiary Salamon Enterprises, set up to run KAP.
According to the Russian company, the parties will meet next few days to discuss the issue.
RusAl, the world?s second largest aluminium producer, said it will pay 48.5 million euro ($51.5 million) for a 65.5 percent stake and invest a further 55 million euros.
