Russian-British merge TNK-BP has been hit with a 26 billion rouble tax demand.
Viktor Vekselberg, a member of TNK-BP's board, said that the company will try to settle the issue with Russian officials. Otherwise it is going to take legal action.
Earlier, TNK-BP has always claimed to have good relations with the Russian government.
