Russian gold producer Norilsk Nickel this year plans to mine 1.1 mln troy ounces of gold that is 2% of the world production.
However, the company may change its plans, because they are connected with the situation with SA firm Gold Fields and Harmony Gold?s hostile bid to the former.
Norilsk Nickel is the largest shareholder of Gold Fields.
