German gas concern E.ON and BASF AG will sign an agreement with Russian gas monopoly Gazprom on joint works in the North European Pipeline project on Sept. 8, German newspapers reported.
The pipeline of 4.6 billion euros worth will transport Russia gas to Germany via the Baltic Sea, bypassing Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine.
A signing ceremony will take place on Sept. 8 between President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
