Gold Fields Chiarman Retires

The chairman of South African gold producer Gold Fields Christopher Thompson announced yesterday that GF's board decision of his intention to retire with effect on Thursday, November 17, 2005.

The board unanimously elected Alan Wright, 64, and currently the deputy chairman to the post of the chairman.
