Kazakh gas transport company KazTransGaz intends to allocate some $160m for the investment in 2007, the company's press service reports.
The capital investment of KazTransGaz and its subsidiary Intergaz Central Asia totaled $59m, including $54.266m invested in production, in the first half of 2006, which is 24 percent higher than in the same period of 2005.
Also, the company's press service stated that KazTransGaz planned to transport around 129bn cubic meters of gas the following year.
KazTransGaz was established in 2000 for the acquisition, management, operation and maintenance of backbone gas pipelines in Kazakhstan. The company supervises the republic's backbone gas pipeline network of over 10,000 kilometers in length and the annual capacity of 190bn cubic meters of gas. KazTransGaz is part of KazMunaiGaz, Kazakhstan's national gas company. It controls 100 percent of Intergaz Central Asia.
