Gazprom to Supply Gas to Gaz de France

The Russian gas monopoly Gazprom is very close to a supply agreement with Gaz de France, Gazprom vice president Alexander Medvedev said.

At the moment the companies are in talks.

"We are very close to an agreement," Medvedev said.

He was to meet later Friday with GDF directors.

On November 16, GDF chief executive Jean-Francois Cirelli had also said the company was nearing an accord that would "guarantee Russian supplies over the long term, at least into the years beyond 2030".
