Chevron Nigeria Limited, operator of the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture, has secured a certificate of occupancy for 62.251 hectares of land at Agura village, Ijede in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State for its Independent Power Generation Project (IPP).

This was contained in a statement issued by the company and signed by the General Manager, Government and Public Affairs, Mr. Femi Odumabo, which was made available to Vanguard in Lagos recently.

"The Certificate of Occupancy, which was presented to the company at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa Ikeja, by the Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Fola Arthur-Worrey on behalf of the state Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signifies a major step in the company's commitment to embark on a power generation project as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and support for the Federal Government in boosting electricity supply in Nigeria.

"The successful acquisition of the land followed effective consultations and tripartite engagements amongst the company, Lagos State Government and the community land owners.
