The world's highest-capacity natural gas liquefaction plant (NGLP), which is under construction in Sakhalin Island's south, is ready for testing.
The main technological process lines at the NGLP will be tested by means of 135,000 cubic meters of liquefied gas purchased in Indonesia. A gas-carrying tanker is to approach Sakhalin on June 27. Within three days, the gas is to be brought to the NGLP, and tests will be started, Hillary Mercer, director of the NGLP construction project, has told Itar-Tass.
The NGLP is being built by the Sakhalin Energy Company, which is the operator of the Sakhalin-2 shelf oil and gas development project.
