Oil prices rose Friday as news of a U.S. refinery fire helped crude futures recover some ground from a decline of more than US$2 a barrel in the previous session.
Light, sweet crude for September delivery rose 50 cents to US$71.50 a barrel in Asian electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, midmorning in Singapore.
