U.S. underground natural gas storage remains at the upper end of the 5-year average, but wasn't as strong as expected for the week ending September 28, according to data released by the Energy Information Administration.
The net increase in storage for the week was 57 billion cubic feet, lower than the 65 bcf consensus forecast. Last week, a figure of 74 bcf was reported.
NYMEX natural gas prices erased the morning's 0.070 fall and is trading close to unchanged 7.240.
