The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) said it has agreed to expand cooperation with Royal Dutch Shell, signing the agreement to 'expand and deepen' areas of cooperation between the companies.
However, no specific details were provided.
Shell has entered into a joint venture agreement with CNPC's arm PetroChina to develop the Changbei gas field in northwest China's Shaanxi province. It is also building a large-scale petrochemical industrial park in southern China's Guangdong province.
Futhermore, Shell has also been in talks to build refineries and chemical facilities with Sinopec.
