Oil stocks extended yesterday's gains, with investors taking note of news that Venezuela's state-owned PDVSA suspended supplies to ExxonMobil in retaliation for the US firm's move to get up to 12 bln usd of PDVSA assets frozen in a compensation dispute.

In the oil sector, PetroChina surged 0.34 hkd or 3.11 pct to 11.28, CNOOC gained 0.22 hkd or 1.95 pct at 11.50 and Sinopec was up 0.14 hkd or 1.64 pct at 8.66.
