It seems that pretty soon the Russian-British oil major TNK-BP (and probably other companies as well) will have to start practicing the slogan "I can buy goods from anywhere, but I buy domestic ones" in regards to their employees.
The latest malady to befall the company is the lawsuit filed by its newly-installed minority shareholder, Tetlis ZAO, which claims that its interests as a shareholder are being infringed upon because the foreign employees of TNK-BP (namely British specialists from BP) receive salaries that are too high. As a result, the judge has placed a temporary ban on the employment of foreign nationals in the TNK-BP structures until the court convenes to hear the case on May 20. The new personnel crisis follows a story that happened at the end of March when 148 TNK-BP employees were forced to stop work due to problems with visas and work permits. Half of them have acquired the necessary documents since then, but now all of these specialists have been forced to stop working again.
