Natural gas supplies were cut off to thousands of households of Karachi, Pakistan
Natural gas supplies were cut off to thousands of households of Karachi, Pakistan, Sunday after some workers accidentally damaged a 20-inch diameter high pressure transmission line passing by the flyover.
The civic workers were installing a storm water drain along the service roads.
The supply was shut off for the residents of North Karachi, Surjani Town, Board Office, North Nazimabad, Federal B. Area, Buffer Zone.
The accident caused a little bit of panic as the area was already suffering from frequent power breakdowns. It was reported that many families decided to spend the day with relatives in other parts of the city. The gas supply breakdown particularly inconvenienced the area’s thriving restaurant business, tandoors and roadside cafes.
