Qatar Petroleum (QP) informed its partners on suspension of the project last week. The company sent official notice to all the potential bidders for the engineering, procurement and construction works on the spot.
QP and ExxonMobil plan to use the postponement to source gas for the project from a new structure in Qatar's North field, but the details are not complete yet.
However, General Manager of ExxonMobil, Alex Dodds, said that the project will be finnished on time. He said that the schedule and deadline for the requirement are still expected to be met, as the company and QP are still working on the concepts.
