SOCAR Cuts Drilling By 9.8 Percent

The Azerbaijan state oil and gas company (SOCAR) cut drilling work in July by 9.8 percent compared to June, the company reported in a news release.
Without counting joint enterprises and operating companies, in July SOCAR drilled 11,886 meters. In June, this figure was 13,176.
A source in the company said that over the first seven months of 2010, 83,260 meters had been drilled. According to data from last year, 168,182 meters was drilled in 2009.
In July, 9,946 meters of production drilling was completed along with 1,940 meters of exploratory drilling.
