Gazprom's oil arm Gazprom Neft is considering an appeal against the government's decision to bar it from an auction for the right to develop Siberia's Trebs and Titov oil fields, a source in the company said on Thursday.
"Gazprom Neft will consider this option," the source told RIA Novosti.
Russia's biggest oil companies, LUKoil and TNK-BP, whose bids were also rejected, said earlier they would appeal the decision. Another rejected bidder, Nord Imperial, part of India's ONGC, has not commented.
A government commission cleared only Bashneft, owned by tycoon Vladimir Yevtushenkov, and Surguneftegas for the auction.
