TUNBRIDGE WELLS (July 5th 2011) - In a effort to streamline manufacturing capabilities and enhance lead times for its global customers, Cameron (NYSE:CAM) is installing a 100 foot ‘heavy lift’ crane, one of the largest to be transported on the UK’s motorways, at its JISKOOT Technology Centre currently under construction in Tunbridge Wells, UK.
The 20,000 square foot facility is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built centre of excellence for Cameron’s sampling and blending technologies, products, and systems which include both JISKOOT™ Quality Systems and CLIF MOCK® Sampling Products.
The crane itself is of a broad-span dual-beam construction which allows for “corner to corner” coverage of the entire production area. The dual-beam design, along with wireless controls, allows Cameron to operate the crane as a single lift unit or autonomously in different parts of the production area which will ultimately allow Cameron to adapt operations to support projects that can vary from small sampling cabinets to 10 tonne skids.
According to Mark Jiskoot, General Manager of Cameron’s sampling and blending operations, and son of the brand’s founder Jacob Joost “Beer” Jiskoot, the company was established in 1961 as a family-run business and acquired by Cameron in 2008. Since the acquisition, Cameron has made strategic investments into the JISKOOT brand and its offerings which has resulted in significant year-over-year growth.
