Gazprom getting ready for prospecting drilling offshore Western Kamchatka

In Khabarovsk Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee moderated a meeting dedicated to building up the Company's resource base in the Far East.
The meeting participants were informed that the Kolskaya jack-up floating drilling rig made in Russia had been delivered today to the Magadan Port from Murmansk. Upon installation of ancillary equipment, the facility systems readiness test and its delivery to the production site, Gazprom will initiate prospecting drilling offshore Western Kamchatka.
Construction and installation activities aimed at boosting the comprehensive gas treatment unit (CGTU) capacity in the Kshukskoye field are nearing completion in Kamchatka. The increase in the CGTU capacity will allow receiving natural gas both from the Kshukskoye and the Nizhne-Kvakchikskoye fields. Comprehensive testing of four producing wells is currently going on in the latter field. The use of a single CGTU for two fields will significantly increase the economic efficiency of their development.
The meeting addressed the progress with preparations for the Kirinskoye gas and condensate field pre-development offshore the Sakhalin Island. It was highlighted that delivery of equipment for the onshore processing facility (OPF) was going on according to schedule and the construction sites preparation was launched. Around 100 kilometers out of 139 kilometers of pipes required to construct a gas pipeline from the OPF to the Sakhalin MCS have been delivered.
Based on the meeting results, the tasks were given to ensure timely implementation of the work related to Gazprom's resource base development in the Far East.
In 2010 Gazprom carried out seismic survey, defined the most promising areas for exploration and elaborated a geological exploration program until 2014.
In the Kamchatka Krai Gazprom is pre-developing the Kshukskoye and Nizhne-Kvakchikskoye fields on the west coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula. In 2011 the Company brought the Kshukskoye field to design capacity totaling 175 million cubic meters per year. Besides, Phase 1 of the Nizhne-Kvakchikskoye field will be brought into pilot production in the third quarter of 2011. The ongoing work will increase gas supplies to the facilities of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and secure gas supplies to other consumers in the Kamchatka Krai. Since the third quarter of 2011, the Kshukskoye and Nizhne-Kvakchikskoye fields will annually supply Kamchatka's consumers with up to 350 million cubic meters. Later on, annual gas production from these fields will be increased to 750 million cubic meters of natural gas.
Based on the results of the geological exploration performed between 2009 and 2010, Gazprom increased the Kirinskoye gas and condensate field (offshore the Sakhalin Island) reserves from 75 billion cubic meters of C1+C2 gas to 137 billion cubic meters of C1 gas. It is projected to commission the field in 2012. For the first time in Russia gas will be produced from the field by a subsea production complex. In 2011 Gazprom is going to drill two production wells in the field, launch construction of an onshore processing facility (OPF) and a gas pipeline from the Kirinskoye OPF to the Sakhalin MCS.
