Sulzer Pumps says its acquisition of a privately-owned Spanish Pump Company will enhance its footprint in Europe.
Sulzer (share of which belongs to the Renova) announced its plans to buy Burgos, Spain-based Hidrotecar S.A. Friday.
The Spanish company reported EUR 13 million last year and employs about 50 people.
The acquisition allows Sulzer to add complementary products and reinforce its presence in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The Spanish company's new manufacturing, assembly and service facility already serves customers in those markets.
Sulzer Pumps develops and supplies centrifugal pumps around the world. Its customers include companies in the oil and gas, hydrocarbon, processing, power generation, and water and wastewater sectors as well as from the pulp and paper market and other general industries.
