OAO TATNEFT today focuses its attention on the use of various physical and chemical methods of enhanced oil recovery. Leading experts of OAO TATNEFT and TatNIPIneft have developed a technology of injecting compositions containing surface-active agents (surfactants) and polymers, which allow improving oil field development parameters and contributing to additional sweeping of crude oil from less permeable parts of the reservoir. Through the use of dilute polymer compositions injection technology in case of low well injectivity (NKPS technology) it is possible to expand the variety of ways to stimulate any zone or field being under development.


There are three compositions that may contain polymer, surfactant, and a gelation inducer, which are used in the production process. The technology envisaged both joint and alternating injection of the compositions' basic components. The technology uses a variety of synthetic and natural polymers and this also extends the scope of its applicability.


Involvement of low-permeability interlayers in the development is achieved at the account of properties of the surfactant/polymer composition displacing the oil from the intervals and zones, which were not previously activated. Application of the surfactant/polymer compositions promotes both increased formation coverage by stimulation, as well as increased oil displacement efficiency.


A distinctive feature of the method developed is simplicity in application, and it is also one of the most low-cost technologies. The technology uses domestically manufactured chemicals, which injection is performed using commercially available modern equipment.

The net income from crude oil sales gained through the application of NKPS technology calculated per one application and over the period of the effect manifestation exceeds four million rubles.


This development has been awarded a gold medal of the XV-th Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovational Technologies "Archimedes - 2012".
