Russia doesn't Plan Increase Oil Deliveries to China by ESPO Tap till 2017

Russia doesn't plan to increase oil deliveries to China by tapping from Esat Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system (ESPO) till the year 2017, as a representative of TRANSNEFT JSC, the Russian oil pipeline monopoly, informed the Agency of Oil Information (AOI).

"Until 2017, the Russian Federation will not increase volumes of deliveries to China by pipe. The existing plans of oil pipeline system development do not presuppose any increase of deliveries in this direction by pipe, than it had been stipulated before", he said.

The Company's representative clarified that all the increment of oil in Russia will be transported to the direction of the Far East – to Koz’mino (the end-point of ESPO), and to oil processing plants of that very region. In 2010, TRANSNEFT began widening of the first line of ESPO trunk oil pipeline to increase its capacity up to 50 million tons per year with further increase of the pipeline’s capacity up to 80 million tons per year. It was supposed that under widening the ESPO pipeline, there would be organized deliveries of oil to Komsomol’sky oil processing plant (six million tons), Khabarovsky oil processing plant (six million tons), and Primorsky oil processing plant (five million tons).
