Petrofac has won a contract worth USD 100 million from Iraq’s South Oil to provide offshore operations and maintenance services for the Iraq Crude Oil Expansion Project in Basra.

Petrofac’s Offshore Projects and Operations unit secured the contract after a competitive tender. It will provide operations and maintenance services for the new oil export facilities about 60 km offshore the Al Fao Peninsula in southern Iraq. The facilities covered under the contract are an offshore platform, metering station, single point moorings, subsea pipelines, and tanker operations.

The 12-month contract will commence following a 3 month mobilization period and may be extended with two 1-year contract extension options. It is the first offshore contract for Petrofac in Iraq.
