On September 1, 2012, the Open Public Forum took place in the Siyaniye Severa (Lights of the North) Culture and Leisure Centre located in the village of Salym.
This is the traditional annual meeting between Salym Petroleum Development managers and local community representatives. This time it was an anniversary event – the tenth in succession. The Forum was not only attended by Salym village residents but also by guests from neighbour population centres (Kut-Yakh, Sivys-Yakh, Sentyabrsky) as well as Nefteyugansk District Administration representatives.
SPD CEO Simon Durkin told the audience about the Company's operating results for the year as well as introduced the participants of the meeting to SPD strategy the implementation of which will make it possible for the company to produce oil on the Salym group of fields efficiently and safely. The guests of the Forum also heard the information on SPD’s social projects executed within the year. As a part of one of them – Village Infrastructure Development and Safety Improvement Program – SPD reconstructed roadside stations as well as installed forced speed reduction elements in the village. As a part of the Local Healthcare System Support and Development Program, the company gave the Salym Hospital two ambulances (reanimobiles), the keys to which Simon Durkin personally delivered to the physician-in-chief at the Forum.
The audience was especially interested in the short presentation by a representative of Monolit LLC – SPD’s partner company. He spoke about the operation of the Gas Processing Plant. The Plant was launched in May 2012; thanks to the implementation of this large-scale project, SPD achieved a 95% associated petroleum gas utilization level.
Upon completion of the formal part of the Forum, the guests were welcomed to a concert program.
