TGS, in partnership with PGS, has begun a new 20 000 km multiclient 2D seismic survey over the Newfoundland Continental Shelf offshore Canada.
Northeast Canada is one of the most promising deepwater exploration arenas in the world, but few multiclient seismic data from the area is available to the market, the company said.
The data is being acquired by the Sanco Spirit using PGS GeoStreamer technology. The survey area covers oil discoveries such as the Hibernia, Terra Nova, Hebron, White Rose, and Mizzen fields.
The initial data from the survey will be available to clients during the first quarter of next year.
