In the Special economic zone "Alabuga" the President of the Republic of Tatarstan - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the SEZ "Alabuga" Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting on the development of railway infrastructure of Kama innovative regional industrial cluster.

The meeting was attended by Chief Kuibyshev railroad branch of JSC "Russian Railways" Shevket Shaydullin, Government members of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as leaders of major Tatarstan industrial enterprises.

The participants discussed some important issues on the development of Kama innovative production and territorial cluster’s rail cargo routes.

According to the forecast, given by Kuibyshev Railway of JSC "Russian Railways", the cargo loading amount in 2012 will increase compared to 2011 by 48% accordingly to the Trans-Kama region output volume, which will grow by 51%.

By 2014 the SEZ "Alabuga" will become a major cargo recipient and provide railway cargo of 30,200 cars and 604 thousand tons per year. By 2020, the projected cargo traffic will increase up to 120,800 cars and 2.4 million tons.

Such serious volumes of the SEZ "Alabuga" and of the nearby "Ammoniy" plant require the presence of a guaranteed professional logistics operator, functioning on all sections of Kuibyshev railroad - the Special Economic Zone railway track.

The increase of the SEZ “Alabuga” operating plants requires the necessity to develop Zakamye transport infrastructure and primarily the railway service as one of the cheapest cargo transportation ways. A single guaranteed operator and modernization of the existing marshalling yard, cargo and rail units will provide the cargo demands of current and potential investors of the SEZ "Alabuga".
