The fifth World Heavy Oil Congress 2012 with a specialized exhibition (WHOC) dedicated to production technologies and economic aspects of heavy oil utilization was held in Aberdeen, Scotland, on September 10-13.
One hundred and thirty works were selected out of more than five hundred submissions presented to the program committee. From TATNEFT there was submitted an abstract "Advanced Solutions for Steam Assisted Heavy Oil Production from Shallow Reservoirs" of the authors Sh.F. Takhautdinov, N.G. Ibragimov, R.S. Khisamov and R.R. Ibatullin.
The organizing Committee sent a letter of thanks to R.R. Ibatullin for the participation in the Congress, stating that a group of 25 independent experts included the abstract of OAO TATNEFT in the TOP-10 of 500 submissions and 130 abstracts selected for the Congress. In view of this the Congress Directorate sent a formal invitation to a representative of the abstract authors to take part in the Technical Program Executive Committee for preparation of the program of the Sixth World Heavy Oil Congress, which will be held in New Orleans, USA, in March 2014.
