Red Mountain Energy participates in the construction of the Adler CHPP

On January 21st 2013 the start-up ceremony for the Adler Combined Heat and Power Plant was held at in the Adler district of Sochi in Krasnodar. The power plant is part of the Olympic infrastructure and an important link in the energy security system in the region.

The event was attended by Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev; by Dmirty Kozac, Deputy Chairman of the Government; and Vladimir Ustinov, presidential envoy to the Southern Federal District. Also present were the Minister of Energy, Alexander Novak; the Regional Development Minister, Igor Slyunyaev; the Governor of Krasnodar, Alexander Tkachev; and the Chairman of the management committee of Gazprom, Alexey Miller.

The Adler CHPP brings a completely new energy facility in the infrastructure of Sochi. It will significantly improve the energy supply for the city and surrounding areas, and provide reliable electricity and heat for the Olympic and tourist facilities. Natural gas is the main fuel for the plant.

At the commissioning ceremony of the Adler CHPP, the power units were turned up to full capacity – 360 MW. During the 2014 Olympic games the station will supply more than a third of the predicted peak energy requirement. In the future, the station will also provide the Blinov district with heat.

Premium Engineering, a subdivision of Red Mountain Energy (USA), selected and delivered equipment for a booster pump station and subsequently conducted installation supervision and commissioning. After compressor station modules were delivered and installed, the equipment was then tested separately and as a whole unit. The customer has signed a Certificate confirming the completion of the work.

The power plant meets all modern engineering and environmental requirements, is highly efficient and has a low fuel consumption. The use of combined-cycle technology makes it possible to reduce emissions into the atmosphere, prevent pollution and increase humidity parameters.
