On September 16, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev received Macedonia's Vice Prime Minister Zoran Stavreski.
Welcoming the guest, Mr. Abdullayev spoke about Azerbaijan as an ancient petroleum country, emphasized an important contribution of Azeri oil workers to the history of the world petroleum industry, the regional and international projects of SOCAR, its achievements, operation fields, domestic and foreign assets.
Noting the favorable investment climate in Azerbaijan, SOCAR President pointed out the important role of the country in provision of Europe’s energy security, significance of Southern Gas Corridor among the projects realized in this connection. Mr. Abdullayev noted the developing relations between the two countries and contribution of such meeting to the bilateral relations.
Expressing his gratitude for the meeting, Macedonia's Vice Prime Minister Zoran Stavreski mentioned the significant role of oil and gas industry in the rapid development of the country in recent years, successful operations of SOCAR in the country and abroad, and highly appreciated its reputation as a reliable partner. He spoke about economic life, industrial fields, importance of bilateral relations specially in the petroleum sector, and mutual cooperation.
