GridPointDynamics released updated versions of the Geoplat Pro-S 1.2. (seismic interpretation) and Geoplat Pro-G 1.1. (geological modeling and reserve evaluation) software systems, comprising the integrated Geoplat Pro platform.
The Geoplat Pro series software is one of the major national systems capable of replacing all but a few foreign analogs in the Russian petroleum market, such as Schlumberger, IHS, Roxar and other products, thinks I. Yefremov, Director General, GridPoint Dynamics.
“Now our developers are focused on further improvement of our available software and creation of new modules to meet the customers’ requirements. We release updates twice a year. The gap in functionality between foreign and Russian products is closing fast and is not critical today”, pointed out the head of the company.
Besides the upgraded interface, the recent versions of the software programs feature substantially expanded system functions, as well as were purged of a number of errors of previous versions. The expended functionality included both the existing algorithms, and introduction of additional capabilities of the software products.
In addition to the existing reserve evaluation module, Geoplat Pro-G now allows for reserve and resource evaluation by maps and polygons in accordance with the new reserve classification effective in Russia since January 1, 2016.
The interface of the Geoplat Pro-G software system has also undergone major overhaul. For easy handling of objects, a new system of single logics of object visualization by group was introduced. Dialogue interfaces were russified in full. The stratigraphic column writer underwent substation upgrade. For easy navigation in program windows, Pro-G features an opened window manager, “Window Management”.
Geoplat Pro-S uses an expanded algorithm basis for the mapping module (three spline interpolation methods were added: Kholetsky, Conjugate gradients and Multiplex). Combining parameters of several solution algorithms, now the user can build a surface/map which meets its requirements as close as possible.
For easy handling the well database Geoplat Pro-S includes the ”Well Management” module allowing for compiling well lists with data on geometry, tops, datum, available curves, velocity-to-depth relationship, data sorting, filtering for quick search for wells of required information, well grouping.
Geoplat Pro-S also features better functionality of the unique “Sedimentation Analysis” module for randomly located horizon surfaces or in case of no correlation of horizons.

Now Geoplat Pro-RS is offered as a part of the Geoplat Pro-G geological software system.
