Petrofac reported on October 9, 2017, that the company signed a 3 year deal with Gazprom Neft Middle East.The agreement covers engineering services on a call-off basis for the Garmian field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Gazprom Neft has been Operator of the Garmian field since early 2016.
Through the provision of engineering services Petrofac aims to support the planned brownfield works to debottleneck and expand the Central Processing Facility (CPF).
1st oil at the Garmian block was achieved in 2011, with commercial production commencing in 2015.
As at 1 March 2016 total production at the field had reached 2.7 million tonnes.
Gazprom Neft is currently involved in 4 projects in Iraq, 3 of which are located in the Kurdistan Region.
Gazprom Neft Middle East has interests in the Garmian, Halabja and Shakal blocks, holding an 80% interest in the Halabja and Shakal fields.
