Man burned in gas explosion

A man has been severely burned in a caravan gas explosion at Lake Coleridge in Canterbury. Police believe a leak occurred in the caravan this morning and was accidentally ignited. Inspector Bob Palmer of the Southern Communication Centre at Christchurch said police, fire and ambulance turned out to the fire and the man was flown to hospital in Christchurch by helicopter.
