Situation in Pankisi valley normalizing
Tbilisi, July 20. The Speaker of the Georgia parliament Zurab Zhvania told journalists that thanks to the efforts taken by the law enforcement bodies the situation in Pankisi valley has normalized, Prime News reports.
Situation in Pankisi valley was discussed at July 19 closed session of parliament.
Interior Minister Kakha Targamadze and Minister of state security Vakhtang Kutateladze reported to the MPs on the situation in Pankisi.
Zurab Zhvania thanked the authorities of the Kakheti region and civil armed group headed by Luka Ramazashvili for the decisive actions taken against spread of criminal groups in that region of Georgia.
Speaker of the parliament also stated that the civil armed group should not be granted any official legal status.
