Shooting suspect arrested in Ga.

A man wanted here since Jan. 18 when he skipped a court hearing was picked up yesterday in Douglas County, Ga.

Allegheny County Sheriff Pete DeFazio said detectives from his department were tipped off that Dion Lamar "Trig" Williams, 23, of Mount Pleasant Road in Northview Heights, was hiding out at his father's home in Georgia. They alerted sheriff's deputies in Douglas County, who made the arrest.

Williams waived his right to an extradition hearing and is expected back in the area by the end of the week.

Williams and another man, Aki Bivens, who has addresses in Penn Hills and Garfield, were charged with the Jan. 2 shooting of Edward Howard of Suismon Street, North Side. Bivens, also scheduled to appear at a hearing in January, remains at large.

On Jan. 2, Howard, 22, was critically wounded while washing his car at the Quick Car Wash on Stayton Street. Police say Williams and Bivens, with two accomplices, then drove off in Howard's car.

Howard recovered but was injured again in a second shooting June 26.
