Explosion at Baku-Grozni pipeline will not cause damages to Transoil

Moscow, August 29, 2001 Transoil company will not suffer any damages because of explosion at Baku-Grosni oil pipeline for the Azeri oil was completely pumped from the pipe, the Vice President of the company Sergey Grigoriyev informed .

According to him, the incident, which is supposedly sabotage, caused no serious problems. Parts of pipe on water surface were damaged and now the consequences of incident are liquidated completely.

Grigoriev stressed that today's incident did not affect the further pumping of the Azeri oil.

It worth mentioning that an explosion was registered on the oil pipeline Baku-Novorossiysk August 28, 02.25 am MT. Press service of the Russian Emergency Ministry informed CNA that the incident took place 3 km further the Caspian Sea and 40 km to the south from Makhachkala. About 20 cubic meters of oil flew out through 85x5 sm hole in the pipeline.
