Seminar for control over nuclear export opened in Alma-Ata

International regional seminar Export control over nuclear transfer in the Central Asian states opened in Alma-Ata, today.

An official from Kazakh Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources informed CNA that the main goal of the seminar is to discuss organization of control over export and use of nuclear and radioactive materials in the Central Asian states. Besides, questions of development of experts? cooperation in this sphere of activity, use of IAEA and US organizations? experience and exchange of experience between representatives of state and private institutions controlling export and transit of nuclear materials are put on the agenda of the seminar.

The representatives of state and private organizations of the Central Asian states, various US organizations working in the sphere of control over export of nuclear materials, and IAEA participate in the seminar.
